Together we’re growing a community of philanthropy!
The Leelanau Township Community Foundation’s history is rich with stories of how the foundation’s efforts have made Northport, Omena and the surrounding countryside a better place to live. Since 1945 the LTCF has given over two million dollars in grants to the community in ways that change lives. While our philanthropic efforts are tightly woven in the history of this area, we’re also very involved in the future.
Our greatest focus, though, is the people of this community, individuals whose lives are made better by the grants we fund, the nonprofits who can do more thanks to the support we offer and those who benefit from the initiatives we undertake to serve as a catalyst for change.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the caring spirit of our volunteers our roots grow deep in the soil of this historically agricultural area. And like any plant that has good climate, soil and moisture, we’ve been able to grow and reach out to a wider group of recipients each year. As our reach grows wider we are able to provide ever greater support to our community.

The Leelanau Township Community Foundation is a member of the Council of Michigan Community Foundations. In 2008, the LTCF was confirmed willingly and successfully in compliance with national standards for U.S. community foundations.
