The Leelanau Township Community Foundation’s history is rich with stories of how the foundation’s efforts have made Northport, Omena and the surrounding countryside a better place to live. Since 1945 the LTCF has given over $3.5 million dollars in grants to the community in ways that significantly change lives. While our philanthropic efforts are tightly woven in the history of this area, today’s focus is on the future.

The foundation exists to support the people and organizations that make our community great!  Our mission is to make the lives of Leelanau Township residents better by granting money to area nonprofits for projects that let them expand their good works, to local municipalities for projects to improve local infrastructure or enhance the quality of life in our communities and to local schools for special projects.   Our work within the community reflects our determination to serve as a catalyst for change.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the caring spirit of our volunteers our roots grow deep in the soil of this historically agricultural area.  The generosity of many makes it possible to provide even greater support to our community.  Won't you help us continue that support to make Leelanau Township an even better place to live?   Visit our contribute page to support the foundation's general fund or any one of the 32 funds we manage!
