Leelanau Township Community Foundation Awards Grants and Accepts Building Donation

NORTHPORT, Michigan - Leelanau Township Community Foundation finished the 2018 grant cycle with grants & scholarships totaling over $250,000 for the year. This includes recent grants of $7,886 from the General Endowment Fund (the foundation’s oldest fund), the Youth Endowment Fund and the Woolsey Memorial Airport Endowment Fund as follows.

  • Northport Area Heritage Museum - for website development

  • Northport Village Voices - for performance folders

  • Leelanau Township - for help to fund an engineering study of the Woolsey Airport Terminal

  • Northport Pubic School - for tickets for students to attend the performance of Anatasia, for gym equipment for the school’s workout room, and for the 2018 Giving Tree.

    The Foundation is also very excited to announce that due to a generous gift from Bill & Nina Collins, they are the new owners for the 301 Mill Street building located in Northport. A formal ceremony recognizing the donation will be held in the spring of 2019.
