2023 Scholarship Awardees

In the spring of 2023, the Foundation awarded $20,030 in scholarships from seven different funds:

  • Cole Denoyer of Leland Public School, recipient of the Anson and Ruth Solem Science Scholarship.

  • Elia Fritz of Glen Lake Public School, recipient of the Ann Schmittling Memorial Scholarship.

  • Laura Christianson of Northport Public School, recipient of five scholarships:

    • The Edwin Suddard and Ruth Kellogg Suddard Scholarship

    • The Florence F. Evett Scholarship

    • The George W. & Carolyn Travis Anderson Family Community Endowment Scholarship

    • The Kreig Leabo Memorial Scholarship

    • The Winfield H. & Dr. Grace Song Line Scholarship

  • Owen Irvine of Michigan Technological University (and formerly Northport Public School), recipient of the Edwin Suddard and Ruth Kellogg Suddard Scholarship (Year 2)

  • Zoe Korson of Grand Valley State University (and formerly St. Mary School), recipient of the Anson and Ruth Solem Science Scholarship (Year 2)


The Northport Promise

Northport Promise Scholarships are renewable through four years of college (in and out of the state of Michigan) as long as students maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete at least 12 credits or more a semester.
